May1st We left Pisa and then took a connection
flight from Paris to NY JFK.I was sitting on the last raw of the aircraft,
I got my vegan Indian foor as per request, and it was delicious! Nice view from the plane over the sky at sundown sucked, but this time I had a perfect service. And the wine drinking kept on for hours hahaha...I wasn't even able to sleep, I just watched some travel-reports on a travel channel, they showed Moorea in French Polinesia and I was like "I wish I was flying to Papeete instead of NYC!" ihihih
Ok After the worst landing of my life( at
first I guessed the pilot had to be drunk, then next day I realised it was
very windy and some storms had crashed on North Carolina..that was the
reason for the superstrong wind!).
We finally got outside the airport and a limousine was waiting for us.
I felt kind of embarassed, nothing similar had ever happened to me, you know, but I was not as excited as the other ones, maybe cos I'm used to seeing such big cars, and I didn'y feel like WOWWW to sit on it. Well, you see Me at the very back of the limousine looking for a drink, but nothing but beers! everybody was like "yeahhhh, this fucking rocks, let's have gin-tonics, champange and party on !"...well I had nothing then, I was too tired and still a bit too drunk cos of the wine! And I was starving ..anyways, finally we
arrived in Manhattan, actually we were staying at the best hotel in
southern Manhattan, a very nice suite room (www.embassysuites.com)in
Tribeca area, about 150 m from Ground Zero.. The first thing I did from
the hotel was having a look at the Ground Zero area, God Thanks
cousin Lewis decided to book our rooms with a view on the river and
Hoboken(new Jersey), it would have been too sad to wake up every morning
and face Ground Zero.. We then put our stuff in the room and we
went to cousin Lewis' restaurant in 51 Avenue B (3rd &4th) (www.maxrestaurantny.com) to have something to eat. This side of New York
still a couple of years ago used to be very dangerous even at day time,
then Rudolph Giuliani made it safe, even if some junkies might be around
at night in some shady streets.. At Max's in Lower East Side The food was delicious, I had grilled and raw veggies, good bread and supergood wine.We all were drinking till about 2am and talking about what we have been doing recently and about Lewis' coming weddings. Lindita, his wife-to-be seems to be very
nice,it's funny cos some guys in the restaurant thought we were sisters
hahahah. Lindita,Lewis' soon-wife-to-be:)
